Creative Practitioner, DJ & Programme Lead
Jamie Ferguson
Jamie is a DJ and music producer with extensive experience in the electronic music scene, alongside a strong track record in alternative education and in-school delivery. His professional music background allows him to connect authentically with pupils, using real-world creative practice to build trust, engagement, and motivation.
Jamie leads the delivery of Arts Award–accredited programmes, supporting pupils who do not thrive in traditional settings to develop confidence, communication skills, and a sense of achievement. He oversees programme quality, safeguarding, and outcomes across all in-school provision.
Creative Practitioner & Music Tutor
Ben Sharp
Ben is a DJ and music producer with hands-on experience delivering music production and DJ sessions in educational and community settings. His practical, skills-led approach supports pupils to develop focus, confidence, and teamwork through structured creative activity.
Ben works closely with learners who benefit from clear routines and real-world creative practice, helping them engage positively with music technology while building transferable skills that support wider learning and progression.

Ben Harvey
Ben is a music practitioner with strong experience delivering hands-on DJ and music production sessions in educational and alternative provision settings. His approach is practical, structured, and engaging, supporting young people to build confidence, focus, and self-belief through creative work.
Ben is particularly effective at working with learners who struggle in traditional classroom environments, using music as a way to build trust, encourage positive behaviour, and develop transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience. His calm, consistent delivery helps pupils feel safe to experiment, express themselves, and progress at their own pace.

Keeley Ferguson
Keeley manages the operational and financial side of Urban Beat Academy’s in-school provision. She oversees accounts, bookings, and administration, ensuring programmes are delivered smoothly and in line with agreed outcomes. Her role provides consistency, organisation, and clear communication for schools and partners, allowing delivery staff to focus fully on supporting young people.
Safeguarding & Governance Advisor
Katie taylor
Katie provides independent oversight on safeguarding and governance across Urban Beat Academy’s provision. She advises on policy, procedures, and professional standards, supporting a safe, accountable, and well-governed environment for young people, staff, and partner schools.
Co-Director & Programme Development
Michael morris
Michael supports the strategic development and delivery of Urban Beat Academy’s in-school provision. He works closely with partners to shape programmes that are structured, responsive, and aligned with school priorities. With a strong focus on consistency, quality, and outcomes, Michael helps ensure sessions are well-planned, professionally delivered, and genuinely beneficial for young people who need an alternative approach to learning.
